Trunk or Treat Safe Zone 2016 – Monday, October 31, 2016 from 6 PM – 8 PM at Quaker Steak and Lube (Columbia, SC, 941 Spears Creek Ct, Columbia, South Carolina 29045. Trunk or Treat Safe Zone is designed to give kids a safe environment to enjoy Halloween! This year Top Quality Rydaz AC, BBC, Richland County Sheriff’s Department, Richland County Fire Department and Quaker Steak & Lube have teamed up to bring you Trunk or Treat Safe Zone 2016! There will be candy and prizes for kids! We have thrown in a costume contest and a Best Trunk Theme for the adults! If you are want to participate it’s free just let us know! 1st, 2nd & 3rd place prizes for the kids Costume Contest and the Adult Best Trunk Theme Contest! The Fire Department and Police Department will bring out some Special Vehicles for all to enjoy!


Faith Community Forum on Education: w/ Richland 2 School Board Candidates – Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 7 PM – 8:30 PM at Rehoboth Baptist Church, 4646 Hard Scrabble Rd, Columbia, South Carolina 29229. In an effort to better inform the voters of Richland School District 2, various faith communities have compiled questions for these candidates to answer concerning education and community. Various community and faith leaders in NE Columbia have been asked to submit questions pertaining to education in the district. From these submissions 11 questions will be chosen. These questions will be given to the candidates one week prior to the forum. This is a non-partisan effort to provide voters another opportunity to hear from the candidates.

Veteran’s Business Match-Making Event – Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 9:00am to 11:30am at Columbia Chamber, 930 Richland Street, Columbia, SC. Event participants will have the opportunity to explore SBA, Small Business Development Centers, SCORE, and VA resources. Specific topics will include the SBA loan program, counseling, and contracting. In addition, the event will focus on matching participants with the appropriate resources for startups and small business scaling.
